Burn Your Resume
Official Rules
1. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and reside in the United States or United Kingdom.
2. Participants must have a JobTag Candidate account and complete their Candidate Profile to 100%, including the required Profile Checklist items.
3. To enter, participants must select a JobTag Reel, enable “Reel for Contest,” select the applicable challenge and submit the Reel through JobTag for approval during the challenge period.
4. A participant is officially entered once their submitted Reel has been approved by JobTag. Social media sharing is not required to enter.
5. Contest submissions and the entry process take place privately within JobTag. Entering the challenge is not a job application and does not indicate that a participant is seeking new employment.
6. Participants should create a Reel that genuinely shows who they are beyond the resume, such as a Bio Reel, personal introduction, career story or another Reel that showcases their personality, ambitions and potential.
7. Eligible Reels will be judged based on authenticity, creativity, personality and overall impact.
8. Social media activity, including posts, views, likes, comments or shares, will not be used to determine eligibility or select the winner. Any sharing of the #BurnYourResume movement is voluntary and does not affect a participant’s entry or chances of winning.
9. One winning Reel will be selected by JobTag after the challenge closes.
10. The winner will receive a $10,000 JobTag Career Grant designed to support education, training, certifications, equipment, relocation, professional development or other approved career-growth opportunities.
11. The Career Grant may be delivered through direct funding, payments toward approved expenses, reimbursements or a combination of support provided over time.
12. The challenge requires a minimum of 1,000 eligible participants across the United States and United Kingdom combined. If the minimum is not reached, JobTag may extend or postpone the challenge before selecting a winner.
13. Participants may not use fake accounts, create duplicate JobTag accounts to obtain additional entries, impersonate another person or submit a Reel belonging to someone else.
14. Each participant may have one eligible entry per challenge, unless JobTag expressly states otherwise in the applicable challenge details.
15. JobTag may disqualify entries that violate these rules, contain fraudulent or misleading information, attempt to manipulate the challenge, or otherwise fail to meet the eligibility requirements.
Finalists and the winner may be contacted by JobTag for permission to be publicly featured or identified in connection with the challenge. Participation in the challenge does not, by itself, make a participant’s Reel public.
